Custom Warcraft Lore Appendices


I have something of an obsession with this series; it’s entirely nostalgia-driven no doubt. The writing is at best charming and at worst offensively amateur (even by my status as a hobbyist writer); the gameplay itself is hardly innovative either. Yet it’s a fun template to throw strange new ideas into–and the popularity of role-play is a driving factor in caring about the story, however ramshackle its structure may be. Below is a list of my adjustments and addendums; no effort has been made to appeal to the general Warcraft audience. It’s entirely my own preferences and my own perspective on how things should be.

Revised Warcraft Timeline

An effort to make sense of countless retcons, tweaks, conflicting sources and more. Given my focus on the ‘Classic’ version of the game, more care is given to making events make sense within that timeline. However, there are likely few instances where that will conflict with subsequent events in the main game’s storyline.

New Lands (Currently WIP)

Primarily island nations and invented locales to the east of the Eastern Kingdoms, these are effectively made to provide some shaky semblance of background for my more antithetical additions to the lore (such as a blatant expy of Diablo’s Priests of Rathma, or a human-centric society with predominantly Japanese cultural influence that otherwise has next to no bearing in existing lore).
